Comments: In particular, I'm wondering if he could have been working for the german side--he was still a german citizen when he went home for a visit in '38. A side note that I find peculiar is that my mother was an Aufseherin in a different POW camp.

Comments: Just finished The Price of Vigilance - Great read - I was a 203 Chinese linguist at Yokota in 1960-1962 - flew the B50 and C130 both - Stayed in 7 years + and finished up at Goodfellow in 1965 - 56 months in grade for E5 when I left, pickings looked mighty slim for rank - think about USAFSS all the time -

Comments: Flew and did ground sites for 20yrs. served in Texas,Nebraska,Maryland and overseas in Germany and Crete. was a MA, MN and MC and also as an unofficial German. Best duty on flight status at 6916 and 6949 plus ground duty at 6931st on Crete. Waiting on vol IV.

Comments: Larry: Entered AF in Jan 53 (Sampson AFB) Attended Morse training at Keesler, selected to advanced training as Intercept operator, graduated and assigned to APO61 Landsbaerg German, 6910th, later changed to 01st and 05th. I worked in DF Control and Site survery. Left in 56, asssigned to 23rd processing center Kelly. Assigned to Turkey in 57 (Ankara), never heard mission there and Sqd relocated to outside Istanbul. While there TDY to both sites.Left Turkey in 58, assigned to Goodfellow, Instructor in X@ school. Left Texas in 60 for Pakistan, Outstanding mission, basicly same as Turkey, Left in 61(no assignment, they tried to get me to extend and bring my family over) Assigned to 62nd Troop carrier McCord AFB Tacoma, assigned to Combat control, Finally aftera year and a half, got assignment to Chicksands in 63, left in 67 for Alaska, stayed till 70, thean Vietnam, back to Alaska again and retired in Feb. 73. Love all my duty, not so much some of the assignments, but you take the good with the bad. Met and still communicate with so great people. Outstanding site and I will buy you books.
