Served in USAFSS from 1961 to 1978. Started with the 6916th in Germany and ended my career in 1978 on the RC135's at Offutt AFB. Spent my career as an AMT with the best group of personnel anyone could serve with. It was the best part of my life to say the least.

I was at Kaufbeuren, Germany, later moved to Sembach, Germany. Served from 1950-1954, attended Russian Language School at Syracuse, NY, married a beautiful girl from Albany, NY, then overseas. Was S/Sgt, in charge of a trick of analysts in the field at Kaufbeuren, and then moved to Flight A, Sembach. Lovely time. Saw Munich, Paris, Venice. Later was discharged in 1954, Mechanical Engineer at Kodak, designed structures for Lunar Orbiter, authored 26 patents in copier field. Retired in 1991 with spinal cord injury. In wheelchair since. Would appreciate any email from former buddies

My Dad, Wilson C. Lowery, was in Security Service. We lived in Alaska, were the first dependents on Wakkanai, and San Vito Dei Normandi, Italy. My dad had strokes in Wakkanai, Italy, and then in San Antonio where he was stationed at Medina. He was medically retired in 1969 when I was 14 years old. Please contact me if you knew him. My Tante Jula's brother Erwin H. Meyer was a voice interceptor POW in Stalag Luft I according to the obit found at "Find A Grave." Please let me know if you have anymore information on him.

In particular, I'm wondering if he could have been working for the german side--he was still a german citizen when he went home for a visit in '38. A side note that I find peculiar is that my mother was an Aufseherin in a different POW camp.
