Served 20 years in theAir Force with 18 1/2 (basic and Tech School and SAC the last year) in USAFSS 1964-1984.
Flew 434 missions with just shy of 7000 hours as A294/A205. Great times and great friends. I have seen all the guest books and Iam a little dis appointed that not that many 294/205s have signed. I still recognize a lot of familiar names from the 20X careers though.
Nice visiting and hope to here from friends soon

My name is David Sommers, my Uncle Keilly Sommers was best friends with Archie Bourg as a child. I learned of him growing up in the 70s and 80s. I'm an active MSgt in the 554TH RED HORSE Squadron at Andersen AFB, Guam. I did a speech on Archie back in 2004 at the NCO Academy at Kadena Air Base, Japan.

Just finished reading Volume III (USAFSS Ground Sites in Alaska and the Far East). Even though the book is packed with names, dates, and other factual data, it was a quick and easy read. Thanks for all the work, Larry. Now we need a volume dedicated to the TRANSEC/COMSEC units.

Many thanks to all of you who served in the USAFSS. My Dad , retired Capt. Dennis G. Palumbo, served with the 6985th at Eielson AFB. He has always spoken fondly about those he served with in the Prop Wash Gang. He is not able to communicate via email so I am posting for him. I know he would want me to say "Hello" to all of you.

Great site! I will be interested in getting the whole set of books. I was in from 1971 to 1974. I was a 292x2 later changed to 207x2. My first tour was at Clarke AB in the PI. It was supposed to be 15 months but I left early for a tdy en route to Fort Devins on the way to Misawa japan. I picked up a Y prefix at Devins and spent 15 months in Japan working the TRP at Misawa before getting out early to return to school as Viet Nam was winding down and they didn't need us anymore. Tnx Jim
